The ultimate goal of Matrix Service Company is to do everything humanly possible to protect its employees from accidental injury and damage to their health while working for our organization. Personal safety both on and off the job does not occur by chance. It is the result of careful development and maintenance of a “true safety culture” within the organization and “attitude” by all involved.

Matrix Service has implemented many safety programs designed to emphasize our commitment to safety and help our employees succeed. We are proud of our company’s safety performance. Matrix Service has received many safety awards due to our continuous efforts to increase safety awareness among our employees and our commitment to create a safe working environment.

We realized several years ago that:

“To assign our supervisors responsibility for safety without demanding that they be held accountable for the safety of their crews as well is the largest mistake we could ever make.”

Accordingly, Matrix developed and implemented a Safety Accountability Program (SAP) that applies to all levels of management throughout the organization.

The program contains specific Safety Accountability Action Items and tasks that are assigned to every manager and supervisor. These tasks (and the supervisor’s compliance in completing the tasks) are monitored and tracked very closely. Their performance in completing these action items is a key factor in his or her compensation and career path within the company.

It’s a simple concept. We believe that if all levels of management are proactive in completing their assigned Safety Activities, the injuries and incidents will take care of themselves. So far, the concept has proven itself true.
