Matrix Service Company is the parent company to four divisions that provide engineering, fabrication, construction, maintenance and products to the energy and industrial markets.
Founded in 1984 with many acquisitions along the way, Matrix Service Company is headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and trades under the NASDAQ symbol MTRX.

President
Brad Rinehart is President of Matrix Service. Prior to his current presidency, Mr. Rinehart served as President of Matrix PDM Engineering from December 2016 to September 2019. He also served as Vice President of Matrix Service from May 1997 to December 2016; Regional Manager – Michigan Region from April 1991 to April 1997; Operations Manager – Michigan Region from January 1990 to March 1991; and as a Project Manager – Michigan Region from January 1988 to December 1989. Mr. Rinehart holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Science from the University of Oklahoma. Mr. Rinehart is a past board member of the Tulsa Ronald McDonald House and a current board member of the Parkinson Foundation of Oklahoma.
Shawn Payne
Senior Vice President, Operations
Shawn Payne is Senior Vice President, Operations for Matrix Service. Mr. Payne joined Matrix Service as a Division Manager in 2012 and established their Mining and Minerals division. Prior to joining Matrix Service, Mr. Payne held leadership roles at Jacobs, Aker Solutions Americas Inc., and Aker Industrial Constructors Inc., in areas that included operations, finance, treasury and project controls. Mr. Payne has over 25 years of industrial EPC experience and is a graduate of the University of Arizona, where he received his degree in Finance.
Frank Capristo
Vice President, Turnaround & Plant Services
Frank Capristo serves as Vice President of Turnaround & Plant Services for Matrix Service. He joined Matrix in 2013, most recently holding the position of General Manager, Maintenance & Plant Services and before that, as Project Sponsor for the BP Cherry Point Refinery where he established a strong reputation for safety and client relationship leadership. Before joining Matrix Service, he held several leadership positions at Brinderon, Jacobs Engineering and Fluor Corporation. Mr. Capristo brings more than 25 years of extensive experience in the Energy Services industry including large capital EPC projects, complex turnarounds, facility maintenance, tank maintenance and repair, industrial cleaning and fabrication. Mr. Capristo earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering & Construction Management from Arizona State University. He also holds an Associate in Arts degree in Art History from John Cabot International College, Rome.
Mark Fillman
Vice President of Operations, AST & Specialty Vessels
Mark Fillman is Vice President of Operations, AST & Specialty Vessels, for Matrix Service. He joined Matrix in 1998 and has served in several roles within the storage products area throughout his career including Project Manager, Commercial Contracts Manager, Divisional Manager, and General Manager. Mr. Fillman has advanced the historical core AST business at Matrix and lead the development of the Company’s cryogenic and specialty vessel storage product and service lines. In his current role, he is responsible for the operations of EPC services and projects for aboveground storage tanks and specialty vessels. In addition, he manages the fabrication services at the Company’s Catoosa, OK facility. Mr. Fillman strives for safe, excellent execution which has led to hundreds of successfully completed projects. Mr. Fillman holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Oklahoma State University. He is also a licensed Civil Engineer (P.E.) in the state of California.
Karen McDonald
Vice President, HSE & People
Karen McDonald is Vice President, HSE & People for Matrix Service. In this capacity, she works closely with operational and other management across the organization to provide strategic leadership that integrates and ensures alignment of our HSE, Human Resources, Training and Development and Communications functions. Karen joined Matrix Service in 2013 as Regional Manager, Human Resources for Western Canada and, in 2015, was promoted to Director, Human Resources for Matrix Service overall. Prior to that, she worked for SNC-Lavalin, a publicly-traded, global EPC firm, in various capacities including Manager of HR and HSE and Manager of Recruitment and Training. Ms. McDonald has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta and has her SHRM-SCP and CHRP certifications.
